Student debate May 19, 2018.

May 19, 2018 a student debate took place between Russian and foreign students on the current and future relationship between Russia and the European Union. The students were invited to think about the future of Russia-EU relations in the medium term, over the legal format of the dialogue, its institutions and subjects of cooperation (from foreign policy to economy, from visa issues to culture). read more

Another student debate was successfully held in 2016

On November 8, 2016, a regular session of student debate on the topic of Current Aspects of EU-Russian Relations was held. The event was attended by several dozen students from Russia, the European Union countries and the United States. The conference addresses the difference in studies of EU-Russian relations in Russia and abroad, which contributed to failures in the practice of EU-Russian relations. Model of the EU 11-15 March 2016

From 11th to 15th March, St. Petersburg University became the venue for the 10th St. Petersburg Student European Union Model. The roles of heads of state and government, ministers of EU member states, eurodeputies and commissioners, representatives of the diplomatic corps and journalists of independent media were tried on by more than 280 students and pupils from 10 Russian cities. read more

Winter Intensive Courses in 2016

The Winter school "European Union and relations between Russia and the European Union today" took place at St. Petersburg state University on February 9-10. The major participants in the event were teachers, business representatives, as well as young researchers from among international relations students of SPbSU. Project "J. Monnet Centre of Excellence", which is being implemented at the SPbSU Department of European studies, allows providing information and methodological support to researchers dealing with the issues of the European Union. read more

This meeting was devoted to comparing the processes of European and Eurasian integration and analyzing the extent to which the EU experience is used to develop the Eurasian Union and, in particular, the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Winter Intensive Courses in 2012

The first courses "The European Union and EU-Russia Relations Today" were held on January 27 and 28, 2012. 20 people took part in the courses, among the participants there were St. Petersburg businessmen, employees of municipal authorities of St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and Vyborg, representatives of non-profit organizations and teaching staff of St. Petersburg and even Rostov-on-Don universities. More than 80 applications were submitted for participation in the courses, and the selection of participants was carried out in such a way that the interests of the applicants for participation in the courses coincided to the greatest extent. read more

International Academic Jean Monnet conference EU-Russia relations: which way forward?

June 26-27, 2015, St. Petersburg State University hosted the International Conference on the Research Project. Jean Monnet "Relations between Russia and the European Union: Transnational Perspective". The conference was the result of a research project of four universities - St. Petersburg State University, University of Kent (UK), Carlton University (Canada) and Mainz University Johann Gutenberg (Germany). read more
