May 19, 2018 a student debate took place between Russian and foreign students on the current and future relationship between Russia and the European Union. The students were invited to think about the future of Russia-EU relations in the medium term, over the legal format of the dialogue, its institutions and subjects of cooperation (from foreign policy to economy, from visa issues to culture). read more

The work of the second winter school on European integration and topical problems of relations "The European Union and the relations between Russia and the European Union today" was completed. The main listeners of the school were representatives of the city administration and municipal bodies, as well as members of non-governmental organizations, teachers of the city"s universities, entrepreneurs. read more

On November 8, 2016, a regular session of student debate on the topic of Current Aspects of EU-Russian Relations was held. The event was attended by several dozen students from Russia, the European Union countries and the United States. In general, it can be said that the dialogue was held in a friendly manner, the parties looked for compromises, treated the positions of the parties with understanding. read more

The conference addresses the difference in studies of EU-Russian relations in Russia and abroad, which contributed to failures in the practice of EU-Russian relations. From 11th to 15th March, St. Petersburg University became the venue for the 10th St. Petersburg Student European Union Model. The roles of heads of state and government, ministers of EU member states, eurodeputies and commissioners, representatives of the diplomatic corps and journalists of independent media were tried on by more than 280 students and pupils from 10 Russian cities. read more

The Winter school "European Union and relations between Russia and the European Union today" took place at St. Petersburg state University on February 9-10. The major participants in the event were teachers, business representatives, as well as young researchers from among international relations students of SPbSU. Project "J. Monnet Centre of Excellence", which is being implemented at the SPbSU Department of European studies, allows providing information and methodological support to researchers dealing with the issues of the European Union. read more

July 4-5, 2014, the Sixth Intensive Course "European Union and Russia-EU Relations Today" was held at the Faculty of International Relations. This summer we talked about the crisis in relations between Moscow and Brussels and the prospects for their development. Traditionally, not only St. Petersburg businessmen and university professors, representatives of the nonprofit sector and government bodies showed interest in the courses, but also employees of the universities of Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and, most importantly, Kiev. read more

On January 31 and February 1, 2014, the fifth intensive courses "The European Union and Russia"s Relations with the EU Today" were held at the Faculty of International Relations. Given the current heightened interest in the WTO, we repeated the themes of last year"s winter courses and again touched on the role of the WTO in the process of European integration and in the relations between the European Union and Russia. read more

On July 5 and 6, 2013, the regular summer intensive courses "The European Union and EU-Russia Relations Today" were held at the School of International Relations. This meeting was devoted to comparing the processes of European and Eurasian integration and analyzing the extent to which the EU experience is used to develop the Eurasian Union and, in particular, the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. We are very pleased that representatives of business, government authorities, non-profit organizations and teachers of higher educational institutions, not only of St. Petersburg and the region, but also Rostov-on-Don, took part in the courses. read more

This meeting was devoted to the role of the WTO in the process of European integration and in the relations of the European Union and Russia. On July 6 and 7, 2012, the Summer Intensive Courses "European Union and Russia-EU Relations Today" were held at the Faculty of International Relations. This meeting was devoted to the modernization of relations between Moscow and Brussels, the Partnership for the sake of modernization in 2010, its first political and economic results, as well as the prospects for modernization in the context of Russia"s internal processes and the EU and the relationship between the two partners. read more

The first courses "The European Union and EU-Russia Relations Today" were held on January 27 and 28, 2012. 20 people took part in the courses, among the participants there were St. Petersburg businessmen, employees of municipal authorities of St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and Vyborg, representatives of non-profit organizations and teaching staff of St. Petersburg and even Rostov-on-Don universities. More than 80 applications were submitted for participation in the courses, and the selection of participants was carried out in such a way that the interests of the applicants for participation in the courses coincided to the greatest extent. read more

June 26-27, 2015, St. Petersburg State University hosted the International Conference on the Research Project. Jean Monnet "Relations between Russia and the European Union: Transnational Perspective". The conference was the result of a research project of four universities - St. Petersburg State University, University of Kent (UK), Carlton University (Canada) and Mainz University Johann Gutenberg (Germany). read more
